What the 4 Hours Actually Look Like
1. Choose Your Leather and Thread
Start by looking through the leather available that day and choosing the combination you want to work with.
2. Trace the Pattern and Cut the Pieces
You will trace your pattern onto the leather and cut the individual parts by hand.
3. Fit Everything Together
Before stitching, we check how the pieces line up and make sure the construction works as planned.
4. Mark and Punch the Stitching Holes
You will mark the stitch line and punch the holes that guide your hand stitching.
5. Saddle Stitch by Hand
Then comes the part that usually takes the most time: stitching the project together by hand using saddle stitch.
6. Add the Hardware and Finish the Piece
If your project needs snaps or other hardware, we add them at the appropriate stage and complete the final finishing

A Few Questions People Ask
Can I make a different product if I have my own idea?
Yes. You are welcome to come with your own idea and create a different product, as long as the design is realistic for the time available.
You can also look through the examples from our 4-hour workshop for inspiration and use them as a reference when planning your own design.
If you are unsure whether your idea will work within four hours, our team can help you simplify or adjust the design before you start.
What Is Included?
Your workshop includes the leather, the tools you will use during the session, thread, necessary hardware, patterns and project materials, step-by-step guidance, and tea or drinking water.
You take your finished piece home with you.
You do not need to bring any tools or materials.
Can I choose the leather colour?
Yes. You choose from the leather available on the day of your workshop.
Because we work with different batches of leather, the colors and textures may not be exactly the same as those shown in the photos.
Can I switch projects partway through if the one I picked turns out harder than I expected?
It’s best to settle on your project before you start, since each one uses different pieces and different leather cut to different sizes — once you’ve begun cutting, switching isn’t really possible. That said, if partway through it feels like too much, or you’d rather not do every remaining step yourself, just tell your instructor. We can step in more and help you through the harder parts so you still leave with the piece you chose.
How do I book?
You can book by emailing us directly, or through GetYourGuide or Airbnb Experiences. Our listing is called Meadows Leather Workshop on both platforms—simply search for that name in either app to find us.
What if I booked the wrong time or need to change it?
If you booked through GetYourGuide or Airbnb, first check your booking on the platform. If you are still within its cancellation period—usually more than 24 hours before the workshop—you can rebook the correct time.
If the platform no longer allows you to make changes, contact us as soon as possible. We will try to move you to another available time slot.
What Four Hours Gives You
A More Detailed Project
You can choose something with more components, longer stitching lines or a more involved construction than the projects we normally recommend for the 2-hour workshop.
More Time With Each Step
There is less pressure to move quickly from one stage to the next. You have more time to understand what you are doing, correct small mistakes and get comfortable with the tools.
More Freedom to Make It Yours
Depending on the project, you may be able to adjust small details, combine different leathers and thread colors, or work from a simple pattern of your own.
Does Everything Take Exactly 4 Hours?
Not always.
Four hours is a good working time for the projects we offer in this workshop, but handmade work does not always finish at an exact minute.
A wallet with many individual pockets may take longer to stitch than a simpler design. A bag may require more assembly. Some people also naturally work faster than others.
We help you choose a project that makes sense for the session and keep an eye on the pace as you work.
The aim is to finish your piece properly, without rushing through the final steps just to meet an exact time.
Who Tends to Enjoy This
- Friends and small groups. Everyone picks their own project, so you can sit at one table and make different things.
- Couples. Work side by side, each on your own piece.
- Families with kids. A hands-on, indoor activity you can do together.
- Solo travelers. No group needed to join.
- Rainy or hot days. Everything happens indoors.
- First-timers. No experience needed, and four hours lets you work at your own pace.

Closing
When you arrive, your project is just a paper pattern and a few pieces of leather. A few hours later, those pieces have become something real: a strap joined to a bag, cards slipping into a wallet you stitched yourself, a notebook resting in a cover that didn’t exist that morning.
That moment of transformation is what we love most about teaching leatherwork.
And when the workshop ends, the piece you made goes home with you, along with the skills to make the next one.
